What we’re all about
NextGen is a movement to build a community of leaders through mentorship and service.
Here in Maryland, NextGen invests in the next generation by mentoring middle and high school students, providing academic support, life guidance, and meaningful relationships that encourage them to thrive. We also serve our local community by supporting shelters and spending intentional time with residents in elderly care homes, building friendships and reminding those who are often overlooked that they are valued, seen, and loved.
Internationally, we partner with Filter of Hope to serve families across Latin America by providing life-changing water filters that produce up to 250 gallons of clean water per day and can last up to 10 years. Each filter provides more than access to safe drinking water, it opens the door to share the hope of the Gospel and care for both the physical and spiritual needs of families.
From classrooms to communities, NextGen is committed to creating meaningful impact and bringing transformation wherever we serve.
At NextGen, we believe in investing in the people and communities around us. One of our key partnerships is with AYM (Area Youth Ministry), a nationwide youth organization that connects high school students with mentors and a supportive community of like-minded peers. Through this partnership, NextGen members serve as mentors to local high school students across the DMV, encouraging them in their personal growth and future goals. As college students and alumni passionate about seeing the next generation thrive, we support AYM’s mission through mentorship, youth programs, summer camps, and resources that help students build meaningful connections and confidence.
Beyond mentorship, NextGen seeks to serve those in our communities who are often overlooked. We partner with local shelters and elderly care homes to provide care packages, encouragement, and intentional moments of connection for individuals who may feel forgotten or isolated. Whether it is care on Valentine’s Day or simply spending time with residents and neighbors, we strive to show compassion and remind every person that they are valued, seen, and cared for.

NextGen partners with Filter of Hope, a Christian organization dedicated to meeting both physical and spiritual needs by providing clean water and sharing the gospel. As a student, partnering with Filter of Hope means more than just distributing water filters, you’ll have the opportunity to share the love of Christ in practical and powerful ways.
Through international trips to places like the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Belize, and El Salvador, you’ll help bring hope to families in need while growing in your own faith and purpose.
